About Us

Sillero Technologies (Pty) Ltd was formed in 2002 by Johann van der Walt and Tim Beck. Between then, Johann and Tim have over 45 years in the IT industry.

Sillero was formed as company to provide project management and application design and development services. It had evolved from a number of smaller entities providing these services on a contractual basis, either short term or long term (one of the contracts brought into Sillero has been in existence since 1987!).

Johann and Tim were also owners and shareholders of other companies, such as Magicomm (Pty) Ltd which specialised in Anoto Funtionality, and Beck Software Systems CC, which specialised in production of professional practise management systems.

Our team has years of experience in building technology, such as:

  • Custom application servers, including a totally cross platform server which could serve applications running under such diverse environments as DOS, Windows and Java
  • A multi-protocol messaging service incorporating sms, fax and secure email
  • A secure data transfer tool used for critical fail-safe transfers
  • Data-driven application development environments

And of course, we have been involved in very many application development projects. Our roles have been across the board, including:

  • Project conception and initiation and proposals
  • Project feasibility investigation
  • High-level technical investigation and systems architecture
  • Systems anlaysis, component architecture and application design
  • Application and component development
  • Project management
  • System and component testing
  • Application deployment
  • Training
  • Propotion and marketing
  • Support and maintenance
  • Operations outsourcing

More recently we have added Internet Marketing as an important component of our services.
